Gazprom may raise European underground gas storage reserves 50%
MOSCOW, Nov 14 (PRIME) -- Russian gas giant Gazprom plans to increase the volume of natural gas stored in European underground storages before the 2017–2018 winter period by 50% on the year to 10.39 billion cubic meters, as seen by PRIME in materials of the company on Tuesday.
The company plans to store 8.79 billion cubic meters in its own and rented storages, and to store 1.6 billion cubic meters more in the Inchukalnsky facility.
In the 2016–2017 winter season, the offtake of gas from the storages by European consumers reached 4.7 billion cubic meters, and the offtake from the Inchukalnsky facility stood at 1 billion cubic meters.
